About the film
Who is this all for? is a docu-drama set in London, which puts up a mirror to contemporary political events in the UK, exposing the absurdity of decisions and actions by politicians and state bodies.
The film's two main protagonists - a civil servant in the foreign office and a journalist - explore the UK's draconian crackdown on civic space, its state-sanctioned surveillance, pervading extremist views, and the unchecked and corrupt influence of corporate lobbies.
The viewer is forced to confront the questions: “Why, and for whom?”
Structure
The film is narrated by the journalist in an interview, interspersed with scenes relating to events of the past year leading up to the present day.
While the characters, actions, and dialogue in this film are dramatised, they are closely based on reality
Main aim
To highlight the gradual but stark erosion of our civil liberties, and to spark a conversation in which we question the decisions and actions of our politicians.
